China New E-commerce Conference opens in Yanbian

The fifth China New E-commerce Conference (CNECC) was held on July 27 in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, Northeast China's Jilin province, featuring parallel forums on technological innovation, integrated development, cross-border e-commerce, sustainable growth, and corporate social responsibility.
The conference also included industrial chain matchmaking exhibitions, themed events on the Jilin ginseng sector, the China E-commerce Host Competition, and initiatives for high-quality e-commerce development.
It was organized by the China Federation of Internet Societies (CFIS) with the support of institutions and government bodies, including the China International Electronic Commerce Center and the Department of Commerce of Jilin Province, and brought together over 600 representatives from government agencies, internet enterprises, research institutions, and the media.
At the opening ceremony, Niu Yibing, president of CFIS, emphasized the need to deepen the integration of digital technologies with the real economy to drive growth in China's digital economy. Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), highlighted the rising role of cross-border e-commerce, noting a 10.8 percent year-on-year increase in 2024.
The event also released the China New E-commerce Development Report (2025) and recognized leading innovation cases.

Jilin's strengths were on full display, with major industrial belts in cities like Changchun, Jilin, Siping, and Tonghua featured prominently, highlighting the province's competitiveness in the automotive, new materials, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and digital trade sectors.
