More than 100 kite enthusiasts took part in a kite-flying performance held on Sunday in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province.

Local residents were drawn to Nanxi Wetland Park to watch kites in various shapes, including a dragon, octopus, swallow and the goddess Chang'e.

A 120-meter-long kite in the shape of a dragon became the focus when it was liftedup through the joint efforts of 20 people.

"The activity is expected to ignite citizens' yearning and enthusiasm for a happy life and strengthen their confidence to overcome the epidemic," said Wang Yingjiao, an official with the city's mass art center.
