Jilin's Changyi district now medium-risk area for virus

Northeast China's Jilin province reported two new confirmed COVID-19 cases on May 18 and three new confirmed cases in the first hour of May 19, according to officials from the local health authority.
The Health Commission of Jilin Province said that the five domestically transmitted cases were all discovered in Jilin city.
By the end of the first hour on May 19, the province had reported a total of 132 confirmed locally transmitted cases, of whom 104 were cured and discharged from hospital, 26 were receiving treatment at hospital, while two fatalities were recorded.
Three of the patients receiving treatment at hospital are in a severe condition and were all from the city of Jilin. Officials said a total of 1,143 close contacts of the confirmed locally transmitted cases in the province are now in quarantine and under medical observation.
Officials said that Changyi district in Jilin city has been classified as a medium-risk area for COVID-19, due to one new confirmed case on May 17.
At present, Shulan city and Fengman district in the city of Jilin are named as high-risk areas for COVID-19 and Chuanying district and Changyi district are also high-risk areas, according to the local government.
