Changchun city -- capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province -- will put into service a fleet of 100 fully electric new energy buses in mid-June, according to the operator Changchun bus group.

City officials said that the buses will replace the old ones on six routes: lines 3, 52, 218, 252, 261 and 265.

They added that the city plans to put into use of a total of 606 of such buses in the current year, with each one costing 800,000 yuan ($112,890) to manufacture.

Officials said the remaining 506 will go into service at the end of September.
