The second batch of postgraduate students returned to Jilin University in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province on June 7, as the COVID-19 epidemic continued to improve in the province, according to local reports.
University officials said that a total of 4,268 students returned to campus, including 1,349 students from within Jilin province and 2,919 ones from outside the province. Among them were 1,519 doctoral students.
Officials said that different departments at the university -- including the graduate school, the security department and the logistics department -- have made comprehensive preparations for the students' return, in order to ensure their safety.
Students returning to campus needed to queue up to take body temperatures and get their luggage disinfected. Only those with a normal body temperature and green health codes could enter the campus.
Officials said that students will get body temperature measurements taken every day and they are required to keep a distance from each other in public areas such as teaching buildings, libraries and canteens.
Libraries, labs and sports halls will be disinfected regularly and are open to students at different periods of time, they added.
