Jilin to launch online intangible cultural shopping event
|An intangible cultural heritage shopping festival will be launched to mark China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which falls on June 13 this year, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced.
The shopping festival, due to the novel coronavirus epidemic, will be staged online via major e-commerce platforms, according to officials.
Northeast China's Jilin province is also making preparations for participating in the online shopping festival.
Local officials said as part of it, the province is working with e-commerce platforms including Alibaba, JD.com, Pinduoduo and Kuaishou, to promote intangible cultural heritage -- or ICH -- skills and products in Jilin province.
They said nearly 100 ICH brands in the province have agreed to participate in the event, showcasing and selling food and cultural items.
Stories about time-honored brands, inheritors of ICH items and poverty alleviation through ICH skills will also be showcased on the online platforms before the shopping festival, according to officials.
