The "1" in the "15333" new energy strategy represents the company's singular vision. FAW Jiefang will strive to become a global commercial vehicle technology leader, standard setter, and value creator, and provide customers with new energy smart transportation solutions.

The "5" represents the five major product types – heavy, medium, light, micro, and passenger vehicles.

The first "3" represents the three technical routes of pure electric power, hybrid power, and fuel cell; the second "3" represents the three major layouts in the fields of research and development, production capacity, and ecology; and the last "3" represents three new energy exclusive services.

It is reported that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), FAW Jiefang will invest more than 20 billion yuan ($3.09 billion) in R&D to build a global new energy innovation base with Changchun as the headquarters.

FAW Jiefang will also build an exclusive base for fuel cell vehicles and systems, an exclusive base for pure electric vehicles and power batteries featuring wind, light and green energy, and a new energy resource group covering key markets across the country.
