Live streaming events promote Jilin products

More than 100 live streaming hosts promoted Jilin products online on Oct 9-12, with more than 1,000 kinds of products including food, beverages and daily necessities being introduced and sold, according to local media reports.

The event was part of the first China New E-Commerce Conference held in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province on Oct 9, exploring a path for the development of new e-commerce in China.

Relevant data show that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the total value of e-commerce transactions in Jilin province exceeded 2 trillion yuan ($311 million).

Statistics from third parties show that Jilin's online retail sales, rural online retail sales, and cross-border e-commerce transaction sales have grown at a rate of more than 20 percent for three consecutive years.

Jilin province currently has three national-level cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test areas, 28 national-level e-commerce demonstration counties in rural areas, and 134 national and provincial e-commerce demonstration bases and demonstration enterprises, which have helped 1.66 million people find employment.

In 2020, Jilin province fully implemented the "Three-Year (2020-2022) Action Plan for the Development of Live Streaming E-commerce in Jilin Province". Efforts have been made to support live streaming companies and hosts, building new media live broadcast bases, and holding related forums and competitions.
