16th Changchun Film Festival set to open on Dec 21

The 16th Changchun Film Festival is scheduled to open in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, on Dec 21, according to a press conference held on Nov 19.
This year's session, running until Dec 25, will include film awards, forums, and screenings, classic and old film reviews, and new film releases.

Changchun is one of the cradles of China's film industry.
Initiated in 1992, the Changchun Film Festival is China's first film festival to be named after a city.
The most prestigious award at the Changchun Film Festival is the "Golden Deer Award", which includes 10 categories such as Best Film, Jury Award, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Screenplay.
