Changchun Humanities and Sciences College in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, marked the upcoming 34th World AIDS Day with a series of events on Nov 24, aimed to promote AIDS awareness, according to local media reports.

Dec 1 has been designated as World AIDS Day since 1988 to mourn those who have died of AIDS and raise awareness of the disease. It is one of the eight official global public health campaigns made into a designated awareness day by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The theme of the 2021 World AIDS Day is "End inequality End AIDS". With a special focus on reaching those who have been left behind, WHO and its partners are highlighting the growing inequalities in access to essential HIV services.

Over the years, Changchun Humanities and Sciences College has attached great importance to the prevention and treatment of AIDS, emphasized the strengthening of prevention awareness among college students, and organized a series of activities in the form of lectures, brochures, and quiz shows.
