Panshi city gives hero's journey example

A memorial site for commander-in-chief Yang Jingyu, located in Panshi – also known as one of the "cities of heroes" – in Northeast China's Jilin province. In 1929, Yang was sent by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to Jilin to lead the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. In 1932, Yang went to Panshi city. After several engagements with the enemy that lasted five days and nights, Yang died in combat on Feb 23, 1940, at the age of 35 on Jingyu Mountain. [Photo provided to gojilin.gov.cn]
