An online video meeting on cross-border commerce between China and South Korea focusing on the food and distribution industry is understood to have gone very well when it was convened in the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone – in Changchun city, in Northeast China's Jilin province – on June 8.
The online meeting, designed to promote business exchanges between Chinese and South Korean enterprises and industrial parks, is seen as being one of the important activities of the Seoul Food 2022 expo.
Among those participating was Gu Jinsheng, minister-counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office in China's embassy in the Republic of Korea.

The demonstration zone, located in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, initially established an industry ecosystem for big health, high-end equipment manufacturing, optoelectronic information and the modern service industries. It has started the construction of more than 20 specialized industrial parks.
In accordance with the overall requirements for comprehensive and wide-ranging China-ROK cooperation, the demonstration zone has coordinated and promoted the joint operations by China and South Korea in the fields of politics, culture, science and technology, education and the humanities.
It has focused on establishing a coordination mechanism, with international relations steadily advancing as a result.
Since the establishment of the demonstration zone in 2020, foreign-funded projects have been signed by companies, including South Korea-based TMS Co and Tosot.
