China Southern Airlines Jilin Branch, based in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, celebrated its 30th birthday on Aug 8, according to local media reports.

On that day in 1992, the former Beijing Airlines Jilin Branch – later known as China Southern Airlines Jilin Branch – was formally established in Changchun.

Over the past three decades, the company has undergone comprehensive upgrades in the wake of three fleet changeovers – in response to sweeping social and economic developments and the increasing travel needs of its passengers.

Over the past 30 years, the Jilin Branch has focused on continuous safety and has achieved 29 years of aviation safety in a row, with its safety foundation strongly consolidated.

The Jilin branch has established an air transport network with Changchun and Yanji cities as its bases, covering domestic first and second-tier cities and connecting surrounding areas and countries.

Relying on China Southern Airlines' strong operations system, the operations efficiency of the Jilin branch has been comprehensively improved, helping Changchun to develop itself as a regional aviation hub in Northeast Asia.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, the Jilin branch has carried out and guaranteed a total of 120 passenger and cargo medical charter flights to central Hubei province and to other regions, transporting 7,480 medical staff members and 1,038 metric tons of various medical supplies.

During the epidemic control period in Changchun city this year, the Jilin branch took the lead in implementing charter flights for the resumption of industry work and production, resuming regular domestic flights as soon as possible.
