Jilin province records burgeoning grain output

Northeast China's Jilin province is an important commercial grain production base in China and it continues to make significant contributions to its national food security, according to local media reports.
Over the past 10 years, the province's annual grain output has continued to reach new heights – topping the 35 billion kilograms and then the 40 billion kg levels and it hit 40.39 billion kilograms in 2021. The growth rate ranks first among the top 10 grain-producing provinces in the country and the total output ranks fifth in the country.
Among the top 10 grain-producing counties in the country are seven located in Jilin province – namely Yushu, Nong'an, Gongzhuling, Lishu, Fuyu, Qianguo and Changling counties.
Yushu county ranks first in the country and its total grain output can reach around 3.5 billion kg per year.
In addition, Jilin is one of the country's five most important net grain-exporting provinces.
