Jilin athlete wins championship at World University Games

Zhao Shang, a college athlete from Liaoyuan, Northeast China's Jilin province, represented the national team in the women's team event of table tennis competition at the Chengdu FISU World University Games and won gold.

In the final, China defeated Japan with a score of 3:2, clinching the gold medal in the women's team event. This is the first time for a Liaoyuan athlete to win a championship in a world competition. In addition, Zhao partnered with her teammate to compete in the doubles event, continuing their pursuit of medals.

Zhao Shang is a remarkable female athlete originally from Liaoyuan. She is currently pursuing her studies at the East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai while also training with the national team.

With the gold medal in the women's team event, Zhao has shown her exceptional skills and determination. The audience eagerly awaited her performance in the doubles competition as she strived for excellence and brought more glory to her hometown and country.
