The appointment of these nine descendants strengthens the exhibition's accuracy, professionalism, and authority, while also drawing on their unique role in interpreting history, spirit, and emotional legacy. At the ceremony, three descendants donated valuable relics, enriching the exhibition with vivid materials.
Jilin is a land steeped in history and revolutionary spirit. From struggles against foreign aggression to the Northeast United Resistance Army, generations of heroes such as Wu Dacheng, Yang Jingyu, Li Zhaolin, Zhao Yiman, and Wang Daheng made extraordinary contributions to national independence, liberation, and Jilin's development.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 120th anniversary of the birth and 85th anniversary of the martyrdom of Yang Jingyu, a founding leader of the Northeast United Resistance Army.
After visiting the exhibition, Yang Jingyu's grandson, Ma Jizhi, remarked, "Hearing the military song written by my grandfather and recalling his fierce battles, I felt as if his unyielding spirit stood right before me. His indomitable patriotism continues to inspire us."
Opening on Aug 19, Jilin Modern History Exhibition will feature more than 1,200 historical photographs and over 1,000 relics, offering a panoramic view of Jilin's dramatic transformations and struggles over the past three centuries.
