Baishan city received about 900,000 tourists for snow and ice tourism during the last snow season, up 42.5 percent year-on-year. The number of skiers per day peaked at nearly 6,000, and the hotel occupancy rate reached 90 percent.

The Changbai Mountain International Resort received 259,000 tourists, an all-time high, and the Changbai Mountain Luneng Resort received 62,400 tourists, up 96.85 percent year-on-year. The whole city's snow and ice tourism revenue reached nearly 1.2 billion yuan ($186 million), up 35.6 percent year-on-year.

Baishan organized a snow and ice tourism event, with the theme of "Winter Skiing in Baishan", which lasted from November 2020 to April 2021, in a bid to further boost the winter tourism consumption market. The event included cultural activities, sports events, and business activities, and promoted 10 recommended attractions, including the Changbai Mountain International Resort and the Changbai Mountain Luneng Resort. A series of preferential policies, such as consumption vouchers and ticket discounts, were also launched during the event.
