Since March 8, Northeast Industries Group subsidiary – Jilin North Jiekai Drive Shaft Co – has been ensuring stable production, as well as strengthening its COVID-19 prevention and controls, according to local media reports.
On March 7, in the wake of the current round of the COVID-19 outbreak in Northeast China's Jilin province, Jilin Jiekai received an order from auto manufacturer FAW-Volkswagen to add 8,800 sets of drive shafts.
It said that overall, orders received by the company in March increased significantly compared with the previous two months.

In order to deliver the orders on time, while under strict COVID-19 epidemic prevention and controls, 63 production line staff members, as well as management and technical employees who were not under home isolation, returned to the company to resume work and production.
The company changed the training rooms and conference rooms into temporary accommodation.
The labor union bought bedding, toothpaste, towels and other daily necessities for 63 employees in advance and arranged for a designated person to deliver three meals a day.
As a result, as of March 17, Jilin Jiekai had completed 6,504 sets of drive shafts.
